Armstrong previously recommended to serve on Judiciary Committee

WASHINGTON – Congressman Kelly Armstrong announced today that he will serve on the House Oversight and Reform Committee in addition to the House Judiciary Committee. Both committee appointments were recommended last week by the Republican Steering Committee and were approved today by the full Republican Conference.

Armstrong (R, N.D.) released the following statement on the appointment to the Oversight and Reform Committee:

“The Oversight and Reform Committee’s role is to be the fact-finders on behalf of the legislative branch. Oversight is a critical role of Congress. Lawmakers have the obligation and duty to ensure laws are being faithfully executed and taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars are being spent wisely. I look forward to working with both Republicans and Democrats on the committee to shed light on the truth.”

Armstrong’s statement on the appointment to the Judiciary Committee can be found here.

Congressman Jim Jordan (R, Ohio), the Ranking Member of the Oversight and Reform Committee, released the following statement on the appointment of Armstrong:

“We welcome Congressman Kelly Armstrong to the Oversight committee. Our job is to find and defend the truth. I look forward to working with Rep. Armstrong and each and every member of the committee to conduct serious fact-based oversight.”

The Oversight and Reform Committee, previously known as the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is the main investigative committee in the House of Representatives. It has broad authority to conduct oversight into any federal government matter, program or agency.

Armstrong is in his first term as the lone representative for the state of North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives.
