Reps. Armstrong and Peterson to Host U.S. Service Academy Night Monday

FARGO, N.D. – The offices of Rep. Kelly Armstrong and Rep. Collin Peterson are hosting a U.S. Service Academy Night on Monday, September 16, at Fargo North High School.

The event will feature guest speakers from the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard, and will provide students with information about the application and appointment process for each academy.

The event is open to North Dakota students in grades 8-12 interested in attending a U.S. service academy, including Class of 2020 high school seniors or other eligible candidates. In order to be eligible to attend a service academy, applicants must be unmarried United States citizens with no dependents, and at least 17 years old but not past their 23rd birthday on July 1st of the year they wish to be admitted. The application deadline is October 18, 2019, and applicants are strongly encouraged to apply to all of their respective state's Congressional offices.
